This is a magnificent plant! It is said that when one sees a himiko, benkeimaru comes to mind. Benkeimaru is a sword-like Neo variety with a strong appearance and masculine feel. It is named after a warrior Japanese monk named Benkei, a man equated with great strength and loyalty. When one looks at the leaves of benkeimaru, one of Benkei’s swords comes to mind.  The original owner noticed this plant was a little different than benkeimaru and named it himiko, a queen in Japan around 175-248AD. It has great thick and wide and curvy leaves, sometimes straight. It was registered in 2004. 1 growth
