There are many moments in my Neofinetia adventure that I have heard many myths and information on Neos that I find either funny or shocking. One time I was at a Japanese nursery where I saw a plant so beautifully splashed red on the white stem I thought it was painted. As it turns out, it was a new variety called Momoyamanishiki. Shockingly beautiful. Yet another time at a show, a grower came up to me and said that his Neofinetia died in a warm greenhouse, which of course is a myth that they cannot tolerate warm temperatures. Neofinetias can tolerate up to 38C or 100F, if all else is balanced (such no bacterial rot or root loss). It would be interesting to hear more stories like this…
