Ansellia africana v. nolitica – Africa NBS $28 A large African epiphyte
that can grow into an gorgeous clump. This one needs good light, ample water
and slightly less water when not in growth. Apparently Zambians brew a tea from
this one for ‘madness’.
Bulbophyllum echinolabium BS – Borneo NBS $30 – $45 This is a spectacular bulbo with very very large orangy red flowers.
Bright light, humidity and moisture make this one happy. A show stopper every
time!
Bulbophyllum frostii – Vietnam NBS $20 This super cute miniature Bulbo looks like it
sports pairs of shoes. Very cute and fragrant.
Bulbophyllum grandiflorum – Sumatra SDLG $20 This Bulbo has very interesting large flowers 3.5 – 4 inches
across that are tan to chartreuse with white spots. An intermediate grower requiring medium to low light
Cattleya bicolor – Brazil NBS SDLG – $20 – $22 One of our favourite Cattleyas. We are offering the unusual green form with pink lip. This flower has a heavy texture and is highly fragrant.
Cattleya bowringiana Pink Elf x self Belize and Guaremala – BSDLG $20 This easy growing Cattleya grows to a medium and large size vreating a
bouquet of flowers.
Cattleya intermedia var. aquinii Brazil – SDLG – $22 C intermedia is one of my favourite species. It is a small to medium
sized plant. Var. aquinii produces splashes on the petals, a very desirable
trait. This is actually the rare blue form Intermedia v aquinii coerulea.
Temperature tolerant.
Cattleya intermedia var. coerulea – Brazil SDLG – $20 The blue form of C intermedia. Select parents with nice ‘blue’ lips were
used to make this seedling. Temperarure tolerant. 2 years to bloom.
Psygmorchis pusilla - Nicaraugua to Venezuela BS - $22 This cute miniature grows on trees and twigs in warm to hot conditions. It however blooms in our greenhouse in a variety of conditions from cool nights to moderate days.
Cattleya grossii – Brazil SDLG - $30 What is C grossii? This is also classified as Cattleya bicolor var. grossii, and a chance to get a rare form of the species. Temperatures are cool to warm.
Angraecum magdalenae – Madagascar – LS $35 I have very healthy large seedlings of this relatively hard to find Angraecum. This one has large thick and fleshy beautiful, long lasting white flowers with and ‘S’ shaped spur. An intermediate grower.
Cattleya warneri – Brazil BS - $50 This most beautiful species is available as large plants in Bud! This one has large light purple flowers with a dark purple lip. The flowers are strongly fragrant. Will do well in intermediate to warm conditions.
Maxillaria huntii – Peru NBS - $30 This is a new species that was described only in 2008. It is a very interesting plant with terete leaves (pencil-like) with small orange flowers with a dark maroon lip. Grow this one intermediate to warm.
Phalaenopsis doweryensis – Borneo NBS - $40 I can’t say too much about this one as it is a recently discovered phal species! The rounded leaves have the solid texture of P violacea and the flowers are a beautiful greenish-yellow with reddish spotting. A collector’s item for sure.
Phalaenopsis celebensis – Sulawesi (Celebes Islands) BS $40 – 75 P celebensis is still a difficult to find species. The flowers are numerous on a cone-like inflourescence and are white with reddish brown on either side of the lip. This one will grow intermediate to warm. Another one for the Phal collector.
